Privacy policy

Who we are and what this covers

This site is Best Local Biz Listing, a directory of family and community businesses in the United States and Canada. It is operated by Citation Vault LLC. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Citation Vault LLC.

This policy covers this website. It says what information we collect, where it comes from, how we use it and what choices you have.

Business listing information

Listings come from Google Business data and from business submissions. Google Business data is what a business has made public on its Google Business Profile, such as its name, address, telephone and hours. Businesses we added from Google Business data are Free Listings.

A listing holds a business name, category, address and phone number. It shows hours and a website when we have them.

If you own a listed business, or you are named in a listing, you can ask us to correct or remove it. Email connect@bestlocalbizlisting.com or follow the steps on the corrections page.

Google Reviews

Profiles can show a business star rating, review count and review quotes from Google. They are labelled Google Reviews.

Review quotes belong to their authors. Ratings and quotes can be out of date.

Email connect@bestlocalbizlisting.com with the address of the listing page to ask about a quote or rating.

Information you give us

The site has no visitor accounts and no sign in. When you email us, we receive your email address and what you write.

When a business buys a Featured listing, the card payment is handled by Stripe. We do not see or store card numbers.

Information collected automatically

Our pages are delivered by a content delivery network run by Bunny. It receives your IP address and the page you asked for, as any web host does.

This site does not use analytics, session recording or advertising tags. We will update this page before we add any.

This site runs only small scripts of its own. They keep your light or dark choice in your browser local storage and compare listed hours with your clock. They send nothing anywhere.

Cookies and your choices

This site sets no cookies. The light or dark choice is kept in browser storage and is not a cookie.

You can clear browser storage in your browser settings. The site works the same without it.

How we use information

We use listing information to publish the directory and keep it accurate. We use what you send us to answer you and to add, fix or remove a listing.

Hosting logs help keep the site running and stop abuse.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. Bunny delivers the pages and Stripe handles card payments. Our email provider carries messages you send us.

We may disclose information when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep information for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for. Bunny and Stripe each keep their data under their own settings.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you. You can ask us to correct it or delete it. Email connect@bestlocalbizlisting.com.

Children

This site is for adults looking up businesses. It is not directed at children under 13.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. Pages are served over an encrypted connection.
